What is Imago Relationship Therapy?

Developed by Harville Hendricks and Helen LaKelly Hunt, Imago focuses on the way couples communicate. It uses research from neuroscience to create safety in conversation known as the Imago Dialogue. This dialogue teaches couples how to use deep listening, mirroring, validation and empathy. It has a deep psychodynamic philosophy that is operationalized by this method as it looks back and discover unmet needs from childhood. Its goal is to help couples move from Power Struggle to Conscious Connection.

What is Psychodrama?

Developed by psychiatrist, JL Moreno, in the early part of the 20th century, Psychodrama is a gentle yet powerful method of promoting optimal personal, interpersonal and spiritual growth. Through action methods, participants explore their external and internal worlds with the goal of accessing the creativity and spontaneity that are the root of human potential.

Connect2Healing Presents:

Off the Couch and On to Change

Psychodramatic Action with Individuals

We all know that feeling of being "stuck" in traditional talk therapy. This workshop will teach psychodrama methods to deepen and move the therapeutic process toward greater insight and behavior change.

Participants will learn how to use doubling, role reversal, empty chair and other action methods with individuals. Because psychodrama is holistic in nature, employing body, mind and spirit, there will also be a specific focus on how to tune into and utilize the client's somatic process.

Connect2Healing Presents:

Finding the Gifts in Our Dreams:

Dream Work In Action

Freud said that dreams are "the royal road to the unconscious." As such they offer rich visions into all the unfinished business that we are unable to process in our waking hours. This workshop will teach you how to find the significant moments of a dream that will help the dreamer decode the messages in action. Psychodramatic dream work provides a way to rework a dream as we learn from our unconscious and reveal its messages, examine our beliefs, and take action in our waking lives. This workshop will focus on how to work with dreams in a group as well as with individuals.

"Nobody Understands Me":

Working Experientially With Adolescents

Powerlessness, individuation, body issues, and sexuality are just a few of the issues adolescents bring into treatment. Often they are very guarded due to previous betrayals and/or lack of self esteem. Psychodrama teaches us that when a client presents something that looks like resistance, we must be our most spontaneous and creative selves in order to find the intervention that will warm the client up enough to move forward. In this workshop we will you teach many creative ways to enter the adolescent's world.
